Cusson, a Grade 5 teacher with Good Shepherd School, in Peace River, has been a French immersion teacher for 22 years. Kramer was once a student in Cusson’s Grade 5 class. On May 24, Kramer, now 20, signed his first NHL contract, with his favourite teacher and mentor, Cusson, acting as witness. Kramer signed the contract in Cusson’s classroom as his way of expressing his appreciation for Cusson’s passion and encouragement over the years.
